Clément Sauvage is a product engineer and senior iOS consultant based in Lille, France. Since 2008, he has helped startups, scale-ups, and established companies turn product ideas and difficult codebases into native iPhone and iPad apps.
His work spans product definition, Swift and SwiftUI development, UIKit interoperability, architecture, accessibility, release quality, and App Store delivery. He works remotely across France, Europe, the UK, and the US, travelling when a workshop or a critical milestone benefits from having everyone in the room.
Bits’n Coffee is the product engineering studio he founded. Clément leads every engagement himself and brings in trusted specialists only when the work calls for complementary expertise.
When to hire me
Senior iOS experience matters most when product decisions and engineering decisions can no longer be separated.
What does your iOS product need?
Turn a promising idea into a clear scope, a sound Apple-platform architecture, and a first version ready to ship. Product thinking and engineering stay in the same room.
Find out why releases have become fragile or feature work has slowed down, then restore a reliable route to production.
Add experienced, hands-on direction across architecture, code review, mentoring, platform choices, and delivery without building a new team around the role.
Decide where SwiftUI will genuinely improve the product and the way the team works, then modernise the app step by step.
Services and capabilities
I can take ownership of the whole product or step into the part of an iOS delivery that needs senior attention.
Native iPhone and iPad development with Swift, SwiftUI, UIKit, and the Apple frameworks the product actually needs.
Architecture, state and data flow, dependencies, testing, and delivery practices chosen for the product and the people who work on it.
New features in SwiftUI, clean interoperability with UIKit, and gradual modernisation when a rewrite would create more risk than value.
Build preparation, entitlements, in-app purchases, review requirements, and the practical work needed for a calm release.
A clear-eyed review of the codebase, release process, and team, followed by a recovery plan that can actually be delivered.
Useful AI features in a native app, designed around interface quality, response time, reliability, and privacy.

Approach
The work stays visible. Decisions are explained, working software is shown regularly, and release risks are dealt with before they become deadlines.
Start with the people using the product, the business goal, the systems already in place, and the Apple platforms that matter.
Test architecture and interface choices in working software. Regular demos keep the scope honest and the product moving.
Plan for testing, instrumentation, App Store materials, review constraints, and the people who will own the product after launch.
Frequently asked questions
A clear first conversation starts with the right questions.
Both. I can join as a hands-on iOS developer, advise on a specific decision, or combine implementation with senior technical leadership.
No. SwiftUI is often the right choice for new interfaces and gradual modernisation, but the answer depends on the product, supported iOS versions, existing UIKit code, and the team.
Yes. I usually begin with a short product and technical assessment so everyone knows what to keep, repair, modernise, or replace.
I am based in Lille, France, and work remotely with teams across France, Europe, the UK, the US, and other international markets.
Tell me about the product, the team, and what is getting in the way. We will use the first conversation to see whether I am the right fit and agree on a useful next step.
