Nebius ChatPrivacy policy
Your conversations belong to you.
This policy explains how Nebius Chat, an independent application published by BnC Consulting SAS and developed by Clément Sauvage, handles the data needed to operate.
No advertising, no marketing tracking and no sale of data. Conversations are stored on your devices and, when synchronization is available, in your private iCloud storage. Cloud features and sponsored access require the processing described below.
What we do not collect
Nebius Chat does not include advertising or behavioral analytics SDKs. We do not create advertising profiles, track activity across other apps or sell your data. You do not need a named account with BnC Consulting to use the application.
We do not build a database of your conversations, photos or documents on the publisher’s servers. This does not mean that no data leaves the device: remote model requests, web searches and sponsored access involve the processing described in this policy.
Data on your devices and in iCloud
Conversations, attachments, custom models and the app’s usage statistics are stored locally. When your Apple configuration supports it, they synchronize through the private iCloud database associated with your Apple Account. The publisher cannot access that private database.
Personal API keys and connection settings are stored separately in Apple Keychain, with iCloud synchronization when available. They are not included in conversation records. Apple’s policies and your settings govern iCloud, Keychain and any device backups.
Local models and remote AI services
When you choose the local Apple Foundation Models model on a compatible device, generation runs on that device. Using a web tool remains a remote operation, including with a local model.
When you select a Nebius model, your request, the necessary conversation history and images you attach are sent to the configured service to produce a response. Model comparison may send the same context to two models. Suggestions, titles and structured output may also use the selected connection, depending on the feature and local model availability.
Remote connections use HTTPS. The Nebius client explicitly requests that generations not be stored by sending store: false. Provider processing and retention remain subject to the provider’s terms; this parameter is not a blanket guarantee of zero retention across all services.
Web research with Tavily
When you enable web tools, necessary search queries and page URLs are sent to Tavily directly or through the configured connection. Queries may contain elements of your request. Results are passed to the selected model to prepare its response.
You can open displayed sources in your browser. Those websites apply their own privacy policies. You can disable web tools in the app.
Sponsored access and service security
If you use sponsored access when available, a relay forwards requests to providers without embedding their service keys in the app. It uses Apple App Attest to verify the installation and issues a short-lived session token held in memory.
To secure access and enforce quotas, the relay retains a technical installation identifier, necessary attestation information, platform and app version, timestamps, usage counters and references to requested models. These records are not used for advertising or tracking across apps. They are nevertheless technical data retained on a server.
The relay is designed to forward prompts and responses without storing them in its database or application logs. Providers process the content necessary for each request. Deleting a local conversation does not delete relay records; you can contact us to request deletion, subject to records needed for security or legal obligations.
Your keys, custom proxy and photos
With a personal connection or custom proxy, necessary data is sent to the address you configure. The corresponding key or token authenticates requests. That service’s operator applies its own rules; review them before sending content.
The app accesses photos you select and the camera when you authorize a capture. An attached image may be sent to your chosen compatible model along with conversation context. Nebius Chat does not scan your photo library to build a photo collection.
Retention and deletion
You can delete conversations in the app and remove saved connections in settings. Removing keys does not automatically remove conversations. Synchronized data, backups and their deletion also depend on your Apple settings and iCloud mechanisms.
Uninstalling the app does not guarantee deletion of data remaining in iCloud, Keychain or third-party services. You can manage iCloud storage in Apple settings and contact the relevant provider about its records. For sponsored-access technical records, contact us below.
If you contact us, we receive your email address and the information you choose to provide. We use it to handle your request and retain it as needed to follow up and meet applicable obligations.
Purposes, providers and your rights
Processing required to respond to your requests provides the features you use. Protecting sponsored access and preventing abuse serve our legitimate interest in securing the service. We do not use your conversations to train our own models.
Apple, Nebius, Tavily, the relay’s hosting provider and any proxy you configure may participate depending on the features selected. Their infrastructure may be located in different countries. Third-party processing, transfer and retention terms are described in their respective policies.
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to certain processing. Contact BnC Consulting SAS at [email protected]. For data in your Apple storage or with a personal provider, you can also contact that service directly. You may lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority, CNIL.
Scope and updates
This policy covers the Nebius Chat application and its sponsored access. It does not describe visitor statistics for the website hosting this page. Other applications using the Nebius for Foundation Models framework are governed by their own publishers’ policies.
We may update this policy when the application or its data processing changes. The date at the top indicates the latest revision.
